    Hey Guys!
    I am just curious, what is the purpose of pinging contacts? I've noticed it as an option in BBM, but all it does is say "PING" in big red letters. Is there a reason to do this?

    i use it as an alert. i had my BBM alerts set to silent but the PING to vibrate ON. other than that, not very useful if you have an alert set for new BBM messages.

    It would be nice if it somehow pushed through profiles and alerted people or sprinkled fairy dust on them so they would realize they have a message
