I've gotten better at taking closer up shots. While the quality doesn't wow you, it certainly has persuaded me enough to be confident if I need to take a picture close up.
Well for basic pictures I am glad to see it is not horrible like people were making it out to be
I agree. People are making this a bigger deal than it is. I used the 9900 the other day at a T-Mobile store and it was fine. Trust me, I'm a photographer, and I used my 9780 camera for everything! I'm glad to have 720p HD video recording now! YEA!
Great pictures for a cell phone, better than my 9930. But not for a camera. Also, one small problem, it's not that great of a phone, which is kind of the point.
I just visited the Verizon store and tried to take some photos of text.... oh man.... reeeeeal bad. I mean, there is no way that there is a camera phone that can do worse.
It was my first contact with the phone... liked everything else about it, but even though I wanted to play down the camera... it was just way, way rough compared to my 9650 that I used on the same text photo.
In bright sun at a distance, it is fine. You can NOT use this as a scanner, fax machine or xerox machine, though.

The next time I need a scanner, fax machine, or have the need to photocopy something, I'll make sure not to use my 9930??
