i cannot make or receive any calls, and when i go into a contact and press menu the option is not even there to call them. i went into "options" then "applications" and when i went into "phone" it said unavailable.
how do i fix this?

Pull your battery. While your BB is rebooting, fill out your profile and let us know what carrier and OS you are using, so that we may better assist you.

I've pulled the battery numerous times and it doesn't seem to help.

The carrier is Rogers (in canada) and the phone is a bold 9700.
It just happened out of the blue one day.

sorry, the operating system is an older one, i'm trying to update it but it won't connect and i don't have a cord to attach it to my pc.

I just don't understand how this could happen without me changing anything or damaging it.

You'll need a microUSB cable to connect it to your computer and then, you'll need the desktop software and device software installed. Likely a cod file is missing that is titled Phone. It may have gone bad.
