It's because you're used to having it in your pocket when it vibrates. It happens to me all the time too even if my phone isn't there. A psychologist would probably say it's in our heads, but I think it's the aliens.
if u think that's bad, I've felt it vibrate and when I go to check it, its not even in the holster and I remember I took it out and set it down somewhere else... Eep....

Its happens to me sometimes. And my bf asked why did my bold vibrate when there is nothing there. And I tell him that my bold just wanted me to pay attention to it so it vibrates, cause it knows i will look at it. I love my bold, even with the "phantom vibrate".
That is just a sign that your know paying it enough attention to it.. lol
I have a storm but mine does the samething. If you have the gmail app make sure the notification is turned off because it'll vibrate but won't show you a new message icon at the top of your screen.

old thread haha, but yes!!! this has happened many times with my curve i dont know why..id feel it in my pocket take it out and nothing. Id have it on my desk hear it... nothing! "Phantom Vibrate, the addicts bat call."
