I've already restricted the module. When I try to delete the module it says "Cannot delete Registration; it is required by Registration"...GAY

Etisalat finally stopped sending the batch, but still have no solution for the people who got screwd.

plus they stated 2% were affected by the battery dilemma.. i over heard 5 ppl walking in a phone shop in a row asking for blackberry batteries.. lol so i think around 70-80% of blackberry users were actually affected..

Could you give me the details of the 3rd Party Software you used. I'm having a real issue resolving this
Thanks guys..you'll have been helpful so far..
Im still waiting for a third party uninstalling software.

This 'Registration 'seems like an official backdoor for Etisalat to do stuff on/with your phone and listen to your bbm's. Or even read your emails !!

Etisalat has sent a patch to read our BBms..

This was the only thing they could not intercept...

guys .. wipe your bb and the patch will be removed

Options > Security Options > General Settings > Menu > and chose Wipe Handheld. ( chose include 3rd party apps)

just make sure you use the advanced backup to backup whatever u want dont backup the 3rd party apps.

    Good Luck to all.

    People I've removed it.

You need to wipe your device like Ashuhail said. I used JL cmdr and then installed the new Rogers 4.6.0.282. Make sure to backup your data and 3rd party software before the wipe. And when reloading the apps on the new OS, you'll be able to see the Registration module so just uncheck it. I personally deleted it from my backup files.

The patch includes a new interceptor software according to this new Gulf News article. I doubt they're interested in peoples' bbms but I think its more about the browser and emails. Because currently most of our data communications go through RIM data centers and Etisalat are kept in the dark. I'm not sure but this is my theory.

I suggest you use the basic procedure if you're not experienced. There is a good chance you could brick your phone if you attempt the other way.

    Goodluck

Just did with JL but "Registration" does not show up at all so you need to exclude all 3rd parties...

It's a little program that can wipe your device, restore factory settings, etc.

You can also use another program called CrackMem.

Im sure they've been pushed by the government.
They've got ss8 involved which indulges in 'Lawful interception' in the US.
