Just did a Rogers OTA update for the 7.1 ... Its stuck on the restore screen... did this wirelessly .. top right corner says "off" ... so I'm assuming no singal connection ..... did a battery pull ... phone boots up and still stuck at restore 1% ... where does the IPD backup file go? Assuming RIM Servers .... did research cannot find a answer please help.

How long has it been stuck on restore?

Give it some more time. I've seen other users have lengthy OTA update times. Could take anywhere from 2-6 hours or longer.

4 hours + .... what about the Off in the right corner .. im guessing no reception ??

Sometimes during OS updates the signal is turned off for network connections. I wouldn't worry about that since it is in the restore phase. There may not be an IPD backup file because it is an OTA process. Sit tight and see if the progress changes. This is not unusual, but unusual at the same time.

In the future, I'd stay away from OTA OS updates. Unless you have a MAC. Then you really have no choice.
