    When I lower the screen's backlight brightness below 100% I got oscillating horizontal lines (especially visible on solid backgrounds). And the dimmer I make it, the more visible the oscillation is. (When set to 100% there is no visible problem.)
    Is this normal?

    No. Bring back to the store and request a new one.

    If the lines are like the ones in the movie matrix then you are "THE ONE".
