guys, normally do u delete the OS from your DM after downloading to your BB?
or will the older OS be over-written when u download the newer OS to the DM
I don't. I have all versions I have used since the original .162.
I dowload the new file, run it, install it, and then run the DM to upgrade.
I haven't removed any of the previous versions and never had a problem upgrading before.
Looks like the signal strength is a little better also. Battery I can't really tell. Once I use it from a full charge for a day I will get a better idea.
He ya.
I upgraded and I'm on day 2. The memory management is great, in the 50's on a re boot. Battery life is pretty good on normal use. No cons found yet...
Good luck everyone upgrading. I recommend it.

Where can I download the OS ?
When I clicked the link from the first page, it goes to blackberry.com download for DM.
is that the correct one?
Thanks
Yes just scroll down the drop down menu below the dashed (------------)lines and select Blackberry Bold 9000
Got it..
Thank you
So far I like it. Did I not pay attention before or did this upgrade introduce in-thread (storm-esque) sms replying?

Nope, no in-thread SMS replying.

idk i been running this os for mabe a month now i dont really remember when i upgraded but i wanna kno has anybody else noticed that the battery dies way to quick...
when i was running .244 i would go to school from 7am-4pm and i would get home and mabe be on 20% but now my battery is too low even for radio use i just wanna kno is it just me or is anybody else having this battery issue?????????
Battery life is good for me. WiFi connects faster, GPS connects faster, and the browser is worlds faster. Not bad.
Yeah I'm having an increase in battery use as well.. am looking forward to the next release :-P
My battery life has increase a lot since going to .266. It was the same when I went from .162 to .216. Lots of emailing, BB messenger and some web browsing. It lasts almost 2 full days before having to charge. Even then, I still have one bar left. Memory is still between 33-39MB. I have quite a few apps on the phone though, so I'm guessing that's where the problem is.
Has anybody been getting an hour glass alot I keep getting it but i never had this problem with .247
Might have posted in the wrong place, but Vodafone UK now official .266
Not sure if this is news?

No biggie. Just gotta take a quick look around.

I can't DL the software update from my IP address in China, this is stupid. How else can I get this update?
Come back to the States :D
I just upgraded to .266 and unfortunately some emails show only up with the time and not the entire title/sender as it used to before using the plazmic marco2 theme. I saw that others had the same issue but couldn't find the solution. Can anybody help or suggest a theme where this issue doesn't exist and I can see my new messages on the home screen?
same here, i never went down to low battery with zero bars before.
Installed .266 two days ago from .221 and this is what I have noticed.
- Definately better memory management. I would start with around 42 mb with .221 and drop to around 30 mb after a few days with 221. With 226 I start with 49.8 mb and after two days am at 43 mb.
- Signal strength is superior but I do notice some differences. I get great signal strength in certain areas of my office where I never got a signal but in areas where I had a weak signal on 221 I now have hardly any signal and it will switch to GSM.
- I switch between Edge and 3G a lot more now in certain areas while before the Bold would stay on 3G with hardly a signal. Now it switches to a stronger Edge signal if that is available.
- Battery life is still up in the air. On 221 in a full day (5 am to 11 pm as I email with China) I would be at 50% power. On 226 the first day, I was at 20% in the same time period. Today though it is different. Since I took it off the charger this morning at 5am I am still kicking strong 6 hours later with 95% strength. Same time period yesterday and I was already at 80%.
- I have noticed no significant difference IMO in the browser but the OS appears to be a bit zippier in other applications.
