my blackberry resets itself alot for no reason. do you think this will help stop this from occuring?
I just bought the bold!
the question I was wondering is if I should update to this OS first or use an older one that it seems others say is a little more stable. I looked through a few pages and didn't see this question but I probably missed it.
I shouldve upgraded to .266 earlier. God i'm loving my phone even more. quick question, I like keeping all my old sms, mms, and emails. how much memory does that take up?
I have tried to upgrade to .266 from .247 several times and it will not upgrade. I delete the vendor file and then it gives me 3 languages that .247 can update with. I have tried the SE Asia version and then new UK version. Can anyone help me???????????????????? I have the Bold 9000
Im having issues as well. I am on Vista and when I go into the Research in motion folder, then there is the blackberry folder. Go into that and there is no apploader folder at all. Anyone know what I need to do to upgrade? Im on .167 still from when I bought it.
You first have to go to program files, then common files, then resaearch in motion, then apploader. Don't go to RIM before you go to common files first...
Will look again at lunch time. Thanks
dont leave .247 for .266 you will be greatly disappointed better yet pissed.
.266 Vodafones OS i been running it for over a month now NO issues... awesome OS.
Update went very smooth. Will see how it is in the next couple days.
After doing this upgrade it seems to KILL my battery :(
OK, after a full day running the upgrade I can attest to MUCH improved battery performance.
Reading of the many negative experiences with the .266 upgrade I guess I'm one of the lucky ones; my upgrade went smoothly and the subsequent performance enhancements are just great.
Have a day. Bang Gunley
Same results here... I unplugged my phone at 7 am and it is currently 8:30 pm. I have only lost 1/2 of a bar of battery
All I can say after 34+ days uptime on .266, that this is the best & most stable OS release to date.
Seamless upgrade from .167, everything has been so easy.
Also very happy with battery life!
Great job BBerry
:) :) :)
will i see "any" difference??
Edit: nvm it works now :D
I also think it is a stable OS compared to the last one I had, but my battery does drain faster. If I am on Wifii I really see a big drain. I did not have that with 197.

Hi All,
Just did the upgrade and all went fine, only problem is now I have two calendars one under my email address and one that says Device Default and all my calendar entries are now under Device Default and not sowing under my today theme. Any ideas on how to get my calendar back to one and have it all show up on my today theme? I did a backup before the upgrade if that helps.
Thank you for any help.
Update:
Never mind I found the answer here

Thanks any way, I love this form!
My .266 Bold freezes from time to time requiring a battery pull. It seems to do it on occassions where I'm streaming music or watching a movie.
Ok, I downgrades from DM 4.7 back to 4.6 After the downgrade, I was able to upgrade to .266. Apparently DM 4.7 does not work for a few things. Thanks to all that helped me and the information given. Thanks Crackberry Nation!!!!!
Hi folks... so I installed this one (App version .266). I find it is a tad quicker from the previous one, but this is not even a beta :D, since Vodafone signed off on it. :D
Anyone who has 5.0 installed. I have two 9000's (long story), and have App v .93 of OS 5.0 on it, which once you put it together looks pretty cool. How close is this to ANY carrier picking it up??
I like the eye candy, etc., but SlingPlayer for BB doesn't work well on it, and that's just a no-go for me. Other than that, pretty much all apps do work contrary to what 5.0 folks are saying, I haven't encountered virtually that does not work, and those who supposedly don't work 99% of the time will, upon reinstallation!
As for people wanting to upgrade, I would wipe out your Berry's before you upgrade from the main number (i.e. 4.6 ---> 5.0). Just like I do not want to upgrade a Windows OS, but rather have a clean install, which you'll be grateful for eventually. Of course, I don't mean these incremental updates. Between my Curve and Bold, I've done about 30 incremental updates, so have at it.
Can you maybe get me some screenshots from OS5 for the Bold?I like the eye candy, etc., but SlingPlayer for BB doesn't work well on it, and that's just a no-go for me. Other than that, pretty much all apps do work contrary to what 5.0 folks are saying, I haven't encountered virtually that does not work, and those who supposedly don't work 99% of the time will, upon reinstallation!
Would love to see the Eyecandy, couldn't find any screenshots online and don't want to perform the upgrade yet (just updated my Bold recently to .266).
Thanks in advance!
I had to wipe my Bold to downgrade to .266 from 5.0.0.93. My facebook calendar on the phone got erased in the process. When I refresh blackberry contact on the FB app it puts the birthdays back on the calendar only of that specific person.
Is there a way my entire contact list can get refreshed automatically? TIA.

Bought my first BB about 2 months ago I'm loving my Bold. Just downloaded this upgrade a few hours ago and I am truly shocked at how much better this than the stock OS. I went from about 22mb to 46mb of app memory. I knew I would get an increase but that is insane to me! Runs much smoother, less battery drain, and browser seems quicker too. And the best part? I haven't fell out of 3G since I upgraded 5 hours ago!! Before it would fall to EDGE every few minutes!! How could this stock OS suck so bad and be so ineffecient? Thanks to everyone who put this sticky together b/c I never would have figured out how to do this otherwise!!!
