This is very frustrating. Not sure why but all blackberry.com software downloads continually time out. Last few times it took multiple downloads to get the complete file. Blackberry.com seems to be up and down today as well.
That's weird. I never had a problem downloading a single file. In fact I download at 600kb/s.

Finally succeeded after 5th attempt. It kept saying server did not respond/timed out. blackberry.com is doing the same thing as well intermittently. All other websites work fast and smoothly. This issue has happened multiple times before.

never had a problem, sounds like you either has malware, spyware, or a worm virus. I have downloaded tons from blackberry.com and usually around 900+kbps

Run spybot and Adaware (for spyware and malware) then AVG.com (virus scanner). all free and work GREAT. Go to download.com and search for them.

A lot of people have been having this issue with downloading from the BB site. I suggest downloading from a mirror site. I have posted these's throughout this link. Lemme drag em up again:

We are beginning to see a pattern of problems with the "Official" Vodaphone version.

I am confident that if you download the EastAsia version it will work better.

Make sure you are logged in as an admin, and are running either DM4.6 or 5.0.

.266 BETA DOWNLOAD LINKS - all found on the Beta release thread below:

    Beta .266 thread.

    1st - Megaupload.

    Mirror 1 - Rapidshare.

    Mirror 2 - Rapidshare.

    Mirror 3 - Hotfile.

This is the thing, I don't have any previous versions installed. The .167 is supported by Rogers, my carrier. However, I am disconnecting the computer from the internet to make sure it doesn't request an upgrade.

Good thinking. It prolly shows the old one because it actually never upgraded to the new one. It is suggested in these forums that you disconnect from the internet when doing these upgrades for those reasons.
