    has anyone installed OS 7.0.0.187 for the 9900 yet? I have OS 7.0.0.176 installed but thinking to upgrade the firmware wanted to see if anyone has and have received problems or anything by doing so. thanks

    more to the point, why are RIM releasing updates for an Os that isnt even out yet... maybe its one that once installed blocks the pins of pre release models.

    Basically no one has a Bold Touch right now, so you won't get many answers or any at all.
    That's not true. There are a few people who have them as prereleases and being sold online. But yes, a majority don't for obvious reasons.

    more to the point, why are RIM releasing updates for an Os that isnt even out yet... maybe its one that once installed blocks the pins of pre release models.
    this is why I asked, because on my previous 9900 I updated the firmware and my bbm services stopped working. i don't know if it was a pin block, might have just been a faulty device as it didnt even have an IMEI number, got it swapped and just updated this 1 and it works fine so I don't think it pin blocks anything.

    The software updates are still used for prerelease devices and pushed/made available to those testing them inernally with carriers etc.

    RIM is introducing updates for the people who have the 9900.
