I don't think enough people have tried both to be able to give you a legit opinion. I have rogers 282 and have yet to have a problem with it. It is much improved, my only issue is over BT the volume seems slightly lower but that is it, phone calls and playing music in general the volume is the same.
The consensus by people with more knowledge than me seems to be that there is no difference in OS's with the same version number (other than possibly included languages). Some people say they have a difference. I personally saw no difference between the various carrier releases of the same number. (.282 sucked for me no matter what carrier I got it from.)
