    I had a 8330 then a 8530, then I ordered a Curve 3g and I'm swapping it out for a Bold 9650

I like the Curve (9330 I think) but it's slow. I'm hoping it's the phone and not the os6.

Also, I'm wanting to have a camera flash and PTT. The other differences I probably could live without but will be nice to have.

Anyway, I have read a lot about different os for the Bold. I have used all my BB's with the stock os and I hope to do this with the Bold. Is it going to work well without upgrading the os?

Hope I'm making a good choice here.

I want the Bold Touch when it comes out but I need something that works well until then.

I love my 9650, sometimes is a little slow, but overall, it's good.

I use my 9650 with OS 5.0.0.975. It works well. I haven't found any need to upgrade to OS 6, but your new one will come with installed already.

I've had the 9650 a week after its release and I've been very happy with it and the official carrier updates. Good luck in your decision

If my 9650 is as slow as the Curve 3g would I be able to change it to OS5?

Some things about 6 I like but some I don't. I can't stand the trays, All, Favorites, Downloads ect. I'm always moving from one to the other by mistake when I need to send a quick BBM to my wife or some other quick task.

What is OS7 going to be like, could someone direct me to where I could get some info on it?

I know I can't put OS7 on a 9650 but I'm wanting a 9930 when they come out and the bugs are worked of them.

    Thanks

My 9650 should be here tomorrow, I'm wondering what version of OS6 it will come with.

I have read that 6.0.0.600 (I think I have that right) is working well.

If this is not what it will come with would it be best to install it before I set it up the way I want it.

Forgive the dumb question but I have always used my BB's with whatever OS they come with.

Well the 6.0.0.600 is a Sprint released OS so more than likely it will come with 6.0.0.524(Verizons latest I believe). You probably won't have to do any type of upgrading, but if you do just go through apploader. Good luck

OS6 used to annoy the **** out of me when I originally switched from my 9630 to my 9650. Since then I have grown used to the phone and don't unintentionally use the trays as much as I did at first - I actually find myself using them from time to time.

The 9650 should be able to downgrade to OS5 if you so choose, but IMO I wouldn't downgrade now - at first I wanted to - I've grown used to OS6 now.

Good luck and let us know if there is anything we can assist you with!

    Thanks for all the tips!!

My Bold came in yesterday, have not activated it yet, waiting on the Otterbox to come in before I start using it for work.

I have played around with it some and I like it. It will be nice to have a flash again, haven't had one since the 8330. Also going to try the PTT to see how we like it, I have another PTT phone also.

I think I will stay with the OS that came on the phone.

Two questions, will the Bold Touch 9900/9930 have the same keyboard as the 9650, so far I like this keyboard much better than the Curve.

Also, will the 9900/9930 have PTT.

    Thanks

Just as a heads up... you can always get a OS 5 type theme free in the theme section. This will give you the idea of working with OS 5 but still have OS 6 on your Bold.
