This update bricks my phone "App Error 200". Wiping and reloading doesn't help. If I wipe and reload the last Bell OS it works fine.

I agree with you. Can't see any difference between the two OS's at all.

I'm stuck in a loop on this OS upgrade - I'm at the end & I get a white screen with Blackberry Platform 5.1.0.546 at the top, a list items (AddressBook, AltMusic, AltPictures, etc.) Then the screen goes black and says App Error 603 & reboots or shuts off the phone....

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated to alleviate the panic....

    Thank you....

Please help! I started the update last night and followed each step. I was then notified that it would then take 2 hours to install. My devise has been frozen on "backing up your data" ever since. About 10 hours now. I''ve tried everything and it won't clear.

No new features are added in this version and none will ever be added in any possible future version. OS 7.1 is a legacy OS (at least for the 9900). BB is now focused on BB10.
I have been running this version since day one, the only difference I could find is a slightly better battery lasting.
    Cheers

I've been running 1047 for a while now and I cannot see any difference at all from 1033. In fact no differences since way back.

Good grief, Voda UK aren't usually that quick in putting out a new OS. Especially for what is now a legacy device.

Didn't show up for me because I've already got the Bell version.

Interesting to note live messenger, yahoo and google talk are available *providing you have access via the carrier.

Messenger now having gone to Skype is legacy?

Apart from that seems to work fine apart from some app error messages turning up in logs haven't done the multiple
battery removals yet for stabilisation checks done about two so far so I won't pay much heed to that atm.

BBM after changing plans had been locked out to me once I lowered my plan to $20 per month.

I previously couldn't use it after that only via wifi now it's back YayyYy.

No sign of 4G but I expected that just glad things are much quicker than 7.1.0.342 I think it was.

Battery life Vodas rolled out OS I suspect drained the battery to the best of it's ability I suspect things will be better as even the net is travelling a lot faster it's not sitting their day dreaming anywhere near as much as it was.

Even the my vodafone access came good after it was playing up icons not loading and allsorts.

If I would have complained they would have done nothing doing this update seemed to fix things straight away.

Many thanks muchly appreciated you have breathed new life into what was starting to resemble a doorstop.

I'm getting the same problem now on Bell... Just did the upgrade (or tried to) via Desktop Manager and it just won't get past that App Error 200.

Did you reload the OS from the desktop software somehow? Or did you use an app loader? I think there's supposed to be a way of reloading the OS via the desktop software, since this phone has only ever had official OSes on it.

Just as an update, I ended up getting the desktop software to ask me if the phone is rebooting or not, with the option to reinstall the OS (update button). That worked, and even though the end of the installation said it was not successful, it definitely was. I restored from a backup and we're good to go with the latest OS.
