My 9000 ran fine on 5.0 and others have the same experience. Before installing be sure to shrink the OS with any of the programs made for that function. Take out unused languages and games. After shrinking the OS should install. With mine there were about 25 apps and the OS all without getting too low on memory.

Search google for memory booster for blackberry and clean memory and you will have memory for new OS

    When this happens:
    1) do a backup
    2) make a 'list of apps' for future reference ,
delete as many apps as possible
    3) to a battery pull
    4) do the OS update
    5) do a restore
    6) reinstall any apps not automatically restored,
go back to that 'list of apps" in case you forgot some (lesson learned by hard knocks)
