Depends on what OS you have on the phone...

Go to options > about > and post the 3rd line here...

Either upgrade to anything higher than 282 today, or get the new OS from AT&T tomorrow.

You need to upgrade your OS to .282 and above to get the option to choose 2G or 3G

No, you'll be fine. 282 has some media scanning issues, but nothing says the new OS will resolve the issue.

Don't upgrade to 282. ATT is releasing an official OS tomorrow. just wait one more day. The new OS is a higher version and will have the ability to turn off 3G

Just a quick question slightly off topic here, I'm running version .247 and I have the option to turn off 3G, but I always read on CB that O/S .282 upwards can do that, am I missing something here?
