Before the upgrade I would usually have around 25app memory with a few installed... Now after the upgrade I'm having around 45app memory. Pretty nice.

I saw about 7mb improvement with the same settings and everything reloaded. There may be a few MB of caching left to go so I would say 5mb improvement.

a 20mb improvement may simply for you be that you did not restore everything like old MMSs.

I got a huge bump too. On a battery pull I have 45 meg free with a good many apps installed. I used to have 24 with no mms sms or emails saved.

Actually on second thought if you came from .167 (oldest OS ATT had) then yeah you could easily see some big bumps. Those of us coming from very recent releases will see less.

    Agreed

To the rikkshady, what OS did you have installed before? .167?

Yes, I came from the stock 167. Was shocked. I was actually gonna install the rogers os last week, but decided to wait. Happy I did

I went from 28 MB on .167 to 49 MB on .297. Initally, I had around 38 MB today after upgrading this morning, but realized after looking at my Applications list that I had selected for BB Maps to be installed with this new OS so once I deleted that, I gained about 10 MB. Sure will be nice not to have to worry about doing a battery pull every other day or so.

my experience with every new OS is that the memory starts out great but then after a few weeks it stabilizes to around 25-28 MB free after a battery pull.

Please see my most recent post in the Sticky on this OS update. You should have no problems and should see the app memory boost.
