Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

For install instruction to load any carrier 9000 OS on your BB:

1. Download desired OS to your PC
2. Install/run OS to PC
3. Delete vendor.xml file. It's located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader (Must complete if not with Avea)
4. Connect BB to Desktop Manager and it should prompt the upgrade. If not click app loader and that should initialize it.
5. Do not unplug BB during the process. It will take around 30-60 minutes to complete upgrade.

I tested this version a few weeks ago and it was very solid. Media scan still not quite as fast as .266 but very, very solid overall. Almost 100% optimized

Depends on what you're comparing to but I found it to be very good. About as good as any .266+ build and I've tested them all.

Better than which OS? I went from .282 to .297 and the battery life on .297 is a lot better than .282 so if this one proves to be even better than .297 i will jump in a heart beat.

This .301 has a better radio IMO. I had a ton of dropped calls on .297. Still hard to beat 4.6.0.266 or the higher 5.0's though.

pre-1st impression: boot time is same as .297 for me ~ 100 seconds. slightly more available memory. i've only had it installed for about an hour.

Is the memory card scan time fixed in this build? For me .266 was the fastest, my thumbnails showed up instantly for the most part. I hope this one is better than .297(which IMO sucked as far as how long it took for pics to show up!)
