Recently when I get an email, the sound goes off and the red led flashes like it's supposed to be. If I don't check it right away and check it like 30 minutes later, I go to the messages folder as usual and the email is in the list there, but the envelope icon shows that it's already opened. I didn't open it yet, and nobody else did either. WTF?

Have you tried to do a battery pull or soft restart recently?

Yes, done tried that.

Don't want to assume you know exactly what a battery pull is, so here goes: Leave your device ON, pull the battery out of the device for 20 seconds, put the battery back in and wait for it boot up.

Have you loaded any new apps or OS versions recently???

I know battery pull and soft restart. I loaded .586 on my 9700, but it started several days later. No new apps, all are still the same.

I'd consider either upgrading your OS to .593, or backup your settings and doing a Security Wipe to reset the settings back to factory... then see if it's still happening... if it is then you can reload your settings and data... if not then you know it's a setting you changed... then you can reload database by database and see if you can figure out what caused it, if you want to spend that much time trouble shooting it.

Wait IIRC it also did it when it still was on .330. I WAS on .593 briefly, but I didn't like it and no Mobile Backup option either. Battery also went quicker, so I went back to .586.

Ok I observed what it's doing: New mail arrives the red light and the sound go off as normal. In the home screen I see the new mail icon and the count. The red light keeps flashing for about another 10 minutes. As soon as it stops flashing the new mail icon disappears and when I go to the messages folder the message shows read, even though I didn't open it. It happens every time when the red light stops flashing. There has to be a setting for that.

Ok I wiped the device with BBSAK and reloaded everything and it still does it. But only on the AT&T email I have set up. It doesn't do it on the blackberry email. I am at my wits end.
