I've installed the latest software (.162) and everything seemed okay, but there is a new e-mail notification (no LED flashing however) and there is no e-mail in the inbox!
Could this be a hotmail issue, until now it had worked flawless.

Please search the forum, as this has already been covered several times already!:)
so just pull the battery for 30 seconds and put it back in
feel free to start a question thread whenever you feel like it
Jhill: It's actually common forum courtesy to search the forum before posting a thread to make sure it hasn't been asked before. No one said people can't start threads whenever they see fit. But if it becomes redundant, people are reluctant to respond and that results in the OP's question not being answered. But thanks for your insight.
OP: The battery pull won't help. Go into your messages folder (messages, not the email inboxes) and click the BB menu key. Scroll down to "view saved messages". The unread messages are in there. Delete.
as much as I also agree that people should search before posting some people don't but there is no need to give them **** they learn eventually.
I have never seen a question go unanswered no matter how many times its been asked if its a simple question the moderators and dedicated members are willing to help.
Woohoo! An addition to my ignore list!!!
Ok, thanks guys. No hard feelings, though ;)
And I promise that I won't open useless threads and that I will search the forum from now on.
Unless it's an emergency, like here :)
I know how it goes. I'm new to crackberry but not to forums. This was a very hard thing for me to find. I came across this thread just before I was about to give up for the night. I'm glad there are nice people out there who don't get upset about little things and instead of complaining about it they just ignore or post a response to help the person. Which last time I checked, that's what these forums are all about are they not? Correct me if I'm wrong
The Battery tug worked for me... There were no messages in the Saved items.
PS - I know its old news now, but I found this thread via Google and it no others were posted worked!
So I joined up today.....
Welcome to CB :) But, Be careful, everyone here bites :D
Hey peeps, just wanna let you all know that i had the same issue with my BB just recently. It was displaying 6 unread mail notifications, with NO unread mails in the inbox. This was driving me crazy for weeks, i tried everything ..Deleted the one email account i had set up on it (Hotmail), performed a soft reset. Eventually, when i was browsing through the settings, concidering whether or not to do a hard reset, i decided to have a gander at another theme ....So, set the theme and went back to the home screen to check it out. Then i see a new icon i hadn't seen in a while, called 'Messages', and it was displaying 6 unread messages! Low and behold, these were the ones that had been bugging me for weeks.
So, to sum up, the unread messages were being held in the 'Messages' folder/icon, which i had previously hidden as its pretty useless as it only displays ALL messages that have been sent from the BB ..IM, SMS etc etc!!
Hope this helps ;)
simple, yet difficult if you don't know, thanks a lot for the tip !
Just found this thread, and it worked for me. Might have been related to doing backups and restores between two different Bold's.
