shows that you are connected to a home network, i think?
does it cause any problems?

It doesn't seem to affect anything either way but I can't find any documentation about this on the Blackberry 9900 user manual or on web FAQs. It's just a mystery to me
A neighbor probability has one. I'll see it from time to time driving around and I have one at home. It will automatically connect when it detects it no need to worry about it

That's weird that it would just connect without any message, you would think there would be some confirmation message or something

I don't know about the house icon, but if you have ever connected to a Netgear router just at its default settings, the next time it sees a network with the same name and same setting, it will connect. To stop this, go into the saved wifi profiles and disable that network name.
I have had to do this with Linksys as a network name, as there seems to be a lot of Linksys routers setup at their out of box defaults.
I think this is just a CDMA issue. The 9900 would have wi fi calling or nothing. Sprint relies on network extenders.
