I think the 8900 has 256mb and the Bold has 128mb ram...not 128mb vs 64mb as you stated. Could be good reason to have a 8900 now that we have app world.

The bold kicks canaries over the 8900 curve in respect to build quality and many other features, not saying that the 8900 is a crappy built phone, but compared to the bold the 8900 lacks a lot of luster and beef under the hood, plus many features the bold has.

The 8900 in my opinion is a girly phone kind like the Iphone...

You want a mans phone son and thats the bold and if your a girl well then go get the girly phone.

The bold would be the best choice IMO. The 8900 is a really good phone but small and amd they feel cramped. But don't listen to anyone on here including myself. It comes down to what you want and how the phone works for you. Try them both out and make your choice that way.

The Bold has a 1 gig out of box memory and if I am not mistaken the 8900 has far less.

    Thx.

You realize spitothec was kidding. The Bold is faster, though.

I've had both. If you don't mind that the bold is a little bigger and can afford it go with the bold

    WAY better keyboard.

8900 is way too small. As far as smartphones go bigger is definately better. The keyboard in the 8900 feels cramped and keys feel loose compared to the Bold. That plus the lack of 3G should make the choice easy.

Go BOLD for simultaneous voice/data, which is a bit more specific than just 3G (so as not to simply focus on faster data).

This was you can surf, upload pics, stream music all at the same time AND not miss ur calls.

OR you can be tethering and still make/receive calls.

Did I already chime in? I traded my curve for a Bold. No regrets. Absolutely love the bold.

It's simple, get the Curve if you want looks, get the Bold if you want quality, speed, easy typing.

The Curve gets tiring to type on.

Bold. It is the most powerful BlackBerry. The keyboard is also much better IMO and 3G (simultaneous voice and data HSPA) alone is worth it. I don't buy phones for a good camera so I can care less about the camera the 8900 has.

I chose the Bold over the Curve because of the bigger keyboard (I don't have big hands either) but I would like to have the better camera of the Curve and the extra memory. It all comes down to personal choice really they are both excellent phones.

ok i will just post the facts

the 8900 has more memory and a better camera....2 things that mean pretty much nothing to the average user
the 8900 has a higher resolution LCD screen...the difference between the 8900 screen and the bold screen is not apparent to the naked eye
the 8900 is smaller than the Bold

the Bold has a faster processor 624Mhz>512Mhz
the Bold has a larger screen
the Bold has a larger keyboard
the Bold has 1Gb onboard storage while the 8900 has none
the Bold has 3G and the 8900 has EDGE 3G>> EDGE
Bold simultaneous voice and data.. 8900 EDGE or data

IMHO the bottom line is the Bold has more to offer than the 8900
the OP should try them both and come to his own conclusion

I wouldn't even consider a device if it didn't do 3G/UMTS. The ability to do voice and data at the same time is a deal breaker for me.

Alos I enjoy not having to listen to the speaker interference on a 2G/EDGE device.

Go with the Bold. Build quality will be much better and as one poster mentioned, not as cramped.

You have unlimited funds ... You may buy either the top Mercedes or BMW. Suggestion - test drive maybe? Everyone here offers great advice, and there are specific differences as they've noted. But bottom line, test drive and pick from that. Then come back and tell us why - from your perspective
