    Hey everyone,

    My email account was recently moved to a gmail based server. It used to be on the university server I think. Anywho, I can't seem to add the account to my bold for some reason. After trying to add the account, and adding the password and email address, just says updated failed.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Even though it's a gmail account, my email address doesn't end in @gmail.com. It added just fine to my iphone 4 with no hassle. So I know that the email account seems to be in working order.

    Have you tried going to your carriers website blackberry page and entering it there. Or calling your carrier and let them sit it up over the phone.

    Is it just your gmail account or another dotcom site that's not allowing you to enter it. There's also the option of resending the service books from your phone that may clear up the issue.

    I have a similar problem.
    Hey there,

    Of course no problem. Is your account with gmail too? The trick for me was to use the option add other type of account. I entered my password correct. But I intentionally misspelled the @whatever.com part. What this does is it forces the manual setup screen.

    Once there, select the imap/pop option at the top. This time enter your email address and password properly. On the email server box I used imap.gmail.com if I recall correctly. Then I entered okay and it actually worked!

    Works like a charm.
    I tried it, entered the wrong @....com with the correct password.
    Then the link for "enter manual options" . completed that and after 15 seconds my email inbox was filling up.
