I'm new in BlackBerry and have the following problem.
I synchronized my BB with Contacts in my PC.
So I have everything in BB memory, all contacts.
But after someone is calling me, there is only the telephone number shown on display, and no name of the caller.
When I go to the call history, there is the name of the caller who calls me.
I don't know if this is some strange feature of BB, but I don't know how to change it. I tried to find some settings for that.
Please help me. Why I'm not able to see the name of the caller when he calls?
Means removing the battery and leaving it out for a few mins before popping it back in
Oh and do it while the device is on
This is a very very common first step to most issues
And most of my issues are resolved that way

i should think so
might be a faulty motherboard (pure guess only)
see if u can get it swapped
Ok, this sounds very common with the BB security protocols(meaning) based in the level of the security setting you are running the device it for sake of security wont display the name of the contacts in your address book if the phone is locked or in standby.. So to resolve your issue look in settings/options/security Opt/Gen Settings. On this screen you should have 3 core stages of security broken down for you. Content Compression/Content Protection an the last part which is likely @ fault for hiding your contacts when locked is(Strength of security) while I don't like the hidden contacts myself I have always left mine's set to "strongest" out of fear of either the device being stolen or any random person walking past the phone ringing from reading the caller I.D. an answering
