On my way back
Hi everyone.....
Been a while, 2 years in fact, and I am ashamed to say that I have been visiting the land of Apple and using all the Halo products - iphone (3G, 3GS, 4) as well as ditching Windows for a MacBook Pro....oh, and also the iPad
The last 2 I still use, lovely devices...
But....the iphone4 is about to be turned into what I think is it's correct Market position device - consumer/free time
You see, I'm now struggling to accept the email capabilities of the iphone4 - sure, it has got a lot better since the pre-exchange/push of the iphone 1 but I am tired of no notifications unless you unlock the phone, as well as the infuriating waiting for the email body to load!! (yep, the header gets pushed but the email body is only available once you click to open the email - fine if you are on wifi or 3G but enter sketchy Edge or GPRS regions common in the UK and you could wait 20-30 seconds for the email body to load!!!) also, many times I get the 'cannot load content' and have to wait until next sync to read the email
I get 100-150 emails a day and as a business user, the email needs to be quick and efficient......so.....
Back to BB it needs to be!
My last device was a Bold....and I have now ordered a Bold 9900 whch looks great....
Just wondered what apps I need to be loading as it has been a while!
I used the Profile program from Toysoft before to enable auto changing of sounds/volumes etc - something you cannot do on the iphone at all!!!
I also now use Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn - anyone have comparison experience of these on BB? Or are they virtually identical in operation?
Anyway, hope I'm allowed back and forgiven, any advice greatly received for recommended apps!
Cheers!

No need for forgivness :).
you already repented :p
I use: Bebuzz to change my notification lights,
quicklaunch to quickly launch everything,
quickweather so i know what it looks like outside the prison of my school,
blackberry protect to backup and find my phone when i lose it,
yeah. those are my most used.

Notifications was the one thing that I can not deal with on my iPhone 4. They promised to fix several times and when you see what they came up with . . . .well they failed to fix it!
Nothing does it better than a Blackberry!

Ive just come from an iPhone 4 to the 9900 and so far, all is good.
Went from various Nokias to a BB9700, then a BB Torch, then to the iP4 and now to the 9900.
Loved the 9700 but screen too small for the internet and hard to navigate.
9800 was a bigger screen but the touch responsivness was pants, browser wasnt great and the build quality was shocking
9900 build quality is top dollar, browser is good and it just works!
Starting to get annoyed with the iToy, hard to type at any speed on a touchscreen and always spelling things wrong, Didnt like the lack of notification types.
Facebook on the 9900 is much improved over older versions where im sure most people were having issues with notifications. Seems pretty solid on this version and works well with the touch screen
