I find that the vibration function on my 9860 is stronger than the 9700 I had prior, However this could just be placebo effect due to a new phone.

Cant be changed, the vibration on my 9930 compared to my 9700 is very much less.

It's one of the biggest downgrades in the phone aside from the battery.

Vibrate function is now nearly 100% useless on the new Bold, I honestly cant feel it most of the time sitting down, while its in my pocket and I remain motionless.

Can't be fixed. Common issue with this phone. My 9780 used to shale the house. I too barely feel this but am getting used to it. Only suggestion would me to lengthen number of vibrations and length of vibration.

Thanks for the information.. I'm glad I hanged around more before sinking cash in for a 9900! That just reminds me of the joke of a vibrator in the Storm 2. Most of the time I'd hear it without feeling it

You guys could try ramping up the frequency and duration of the vibration. It might help you notice it.

I remember this was also an issue for original Bold 9000, so I'm not surprising that this issue is back on 9900/30 due to similarity in the form factor (even tinnier) so no room to place stronger vibration mechanism i guess.

How do i ramp up the frequency and furation? Can you be specific? I am not sure what to click on.

RIM makes me sick sometimes with the things they remove whenever a new model comes out.

You cannot change the vibration level. If you want to change the frequency go into sound profiles then select the vibrate profile.

My 9000 vibrates very nicely, I can hear it from 10 feet away on Vibrate Only

If you go into the Sound Profile you use and edit it, there are 3 options for Vibrate. OFF/ON/Custom. Select Custom and you can select short, med or long vibrations and up to 10 times. After changing it to 3 long vibrations, I almost never miss it now.

RIM has definitely caught up with the competition somewhat it seems. Upgrading to a battery comparable to some android phones, and now this terrible vibration strength. Let alone the camera -.-
