I got a very very brief hands on today at my company headquarters. An exec had it and I was too curious and had to ask. It was in fact a 9900 on att. I held it for about 10 seconds. It was very very solid. I loved the feel. Made my old Bold 9000 feel like a fatty. Unfortunately I can only speak on the feel and size. It wasn't my place to dig in to the phone. I quickly pressed a few keys and the keyboard felt great. Great feedback and the click sound was very apparent. I am now torn between this and my Sensation . I do so much email that the Sensation is becoming impractical. Ah, I hope T-Mobile picks this up soon!

    Lucky!!!

That's what we keep on hearing though, that it's a solid phone. I'm one that can't wait for this to come out on Verizon. My upgrade date is the 24th of this month and the $200 is set aside for it in the bank, Verizon just needs to get it...

And did the owner of this 9900 have any information on when it will be launched by AT&T? How did he/she get it?

I have no idea unfortunately. I'm here in Denver for some meetings and training and met the guy a few times over the past couple of days. Today was when I saw the phone. I caught a glimpse of it earlier this morning and was not sure. Mid afternoon I got a closer look and then asked. The guy is a bigwig and is fairly new to the company from what I am told. I expect to see him a few more times and if the opportunity comes up I will see if he knows anything. :-)

I was able to ask a few questions but he seems annoyed at me. He's one of those types. He said he has close ties to some people at RIM and that's how he obtained it. It didn't appear to be a loaner or prototype, I believe it was his free and clear. When asking about a release date he said all he had heard was that iit is expected on T-Mobile first and that it should bbe soon. Guy seemed like a bit of a **** so i left him alone after that.

Hopefully his definition of "soon" isn't a month from now.
