    i cant find anything that helps. its not cracked, i dont wanna replace it. its still attached and working, just can't move it or it shuts off. i just need to know how to pop it back in pleaseeee.
    and the top part with the lock and mute buttons came off too

    WTF! Did you drop it or something? Wow!

    Seems these devices are hit or miss..wish I could help more. I am sure someone with more experience with this issue will chime in.

    its not under warranty. i have insurance on it but i really really dont want to send it in unless i have to.

    how did this happen??

    take a look at a 9700 disassembly video (try youtube) and you might be able to figure it out from there.

    I dropped my 9700 pretty hard a few weeks ago but only the bottom part started
    to pop off. All I did was push it back in and it attached. Have you tried just pushing
    it back in?

    Yeah something has gone wrong. Good thing you have insurance though.
    That's what we have it for. Accidents such as this.

    This is exactly what insurance is for. Why try to fix it, send it in! Unless you are saving your insurance for another issue?

    cnn.cn is a reputable site for parts (I've used them myself) but I imagine with price+shipping and time spent you'd be better off getting the insurance replacement.
