I picked up a 32gb model of the playbook and I really like it a lot. I love the bridge function because while I am on my tablet I get bbm, text, email, and call notifications from my 9930. and you can also check your calendar and notes.

the browser is really good. however I downloaded maxthon browser....which I use on my nexus 7. it has an app page and it connects you to a lot of stuff like ebay, amazon, linkedin, etc.

its a really sturdy device and mine came a nice leather case.

compared to the nexus 7 it dosent have as many apps. to me it performs about the same. its a shame I never gave it a chance earlier because it is a nice tablet. you can get them for a steal at 150 dollars and less.

perhaps owning a playbook does colour your judgement on the 99xx phones a bit - since Blackberry hobbled the bridge on the latest BB10 phones I mean - I have just returned to my 9900 from a q10 while it is in the repair shop for a hardware fault, and honestly I don't even care when my q10 comes back right now, its either getting ebay'd or going in the drawer on its return...

I know. I played around with one today at Verizon and the absence of the buttons and trackpad is a bit awkward. Also the gestures will take getting used to. I am going to wait a bit before I make the switch so all the bugs can get ironed out. Also I am hoping the app catalog for bb10 will expand. Right now I am happy with the app offering for bbos7.

I'm on my way back myself. Had a 9900 back in Nov 2011. Had it for while then sold it. I'm also just trying to just have a simply phone. Social networking on my iPhone 5 has taking over my life lol. Finally gonna have that awesome keyboard at my finger tips again

Nope. I think that you are making a very sound decision and will love the 9930. It is the best communications device out there.

+1 what Legal said. But if you ask that question in the OS10 forum you may get a different opinion.

Thanks for the input; what would you say are the primary benefits I will gain in a 9930 vs the 9650? I mean, I know its better but based on your experience . . . (or anyone else who wants to chime in)

Well after my 9780, I flew with a Iphone 4s for a while. Had a Iphone 5 that was stolen. And a time with a samsung that was just horrid (too big a screen, like carrying a tv around). I took a Q5 for a test run (3 days), but found it wasen't for me. I finally settled on a 9900. So glad I did, discovered something about myself that I don't need all the bells & whistles that pass for phones nowadays.

Got myself a device that can keep up with communication, store what I need, & gives me a warm feeling when I type on it. (No, I haven't pissed myself).

I have to point out the poor battery of 99xx , no better than iphone
I often go up to two days before recharging my own 9930.
