Hello, my bold's LED flashes both red and green when the battery is dead, and when the battery has been charging for hours. Is this normal? does it just happen to look like the LED is flashing both colors?

Green means you have coverage, red is for the battery.

I don't have the coverage indicator turned on... and the lights come on together... almost to make an orange not like green then red...

Green and red together basically means you're low on battery . I'd suggest you try a battery pull and see if the problem persists .

thats what I thought... only thing is that it only does it when the phone is off. It charges for hours and then it starts blinking the combined colors, but when I turn it on it shows full battery...
