My Bold-3 9780 just died a while back.

(1) The email Box icon just vanished from the Tray.
(2) It wouldn't Browse using the Browser.
(3) BBM is dead.
(4) Although it maintain Capital letters EDGE connection - yet wouldnt operate BB BIS services.
(5) When I try to go to Setup and use the Email Icon to setup mails, It allows either BIS or BES mails but after that, just a Retry and that's it !!

Took it to the Service Center & upon a new fresh re-install of OS, same problems.

BTW - this handset was just about 1 month old. Bought it on the 13th of June and assume that's where I went wrong.

Didn't our mothers' warn us not to do anything associated with digits 13 ? Hmm .....

Now - no BB and patiently waiting for a replacement. This would be the 2nd 9780 that went bust in last 4 months.

Makes me wonder whether RIM manufacturing is seriously lacking Quality Control or is it just that my Luck is jinxed ?

Try to get a new bb, if possible

Spankin NEW 9780 in Hand - hehe !! Life's back on again' ...
Came with the OS 6 ver 480 so am happily hangin' onto this for the moment

I really wonder what RIM visionists - Mike Lazaridis & Jim Balsillie are onto. Both these guys worked their @$$ off trying to put BlackBerry on the Global Map as the most secured & reliable handheld device - so much so that all top people & dignitaries use 'em too.

With reliability issues now cropping up - I m seriously believing that the China influence has come in although Handsets maintain the Hungary manufacturing. I am also told that RIM has quantified 25% of total manufactured good to be returned back to them as "DOA" (Dead on Arrival). 25% is serious stuff ! RIM has to be crazy to take this route. Did they strike some super-duper insurance scheme ?
