phone will turn on (in the loading stage) for 3 seconds then it powers off. it keeps on doing it repeatedly. battery was fully charged (since I got the phone less then 8hrs ago). phone never turn on properly so i havent been able to access the settings/menu/etc...

If you just got it, I would return it for a refund/exchange.

Yup, sounds like a faulty battery. I'm assuming you batt pulled though right?
