I just tried this. I like the way the trackball looks now when its not lit but I don't like the way it looks when its lit. Oh well, still better than white. I'll probably look into geting a colored ball.

Just done it, the trackball only doesn't light up blue, but white (much more dimmed because of the black color), maybe that depends on the kind of marker used....but it looks cool though, I'm glad I did it, it's much better then the white trackball

I used a black Permanent Sharpie Marker. Sharpie is the brand name.

My daughter has the Javelin, and I really love the black trackball, so I'm def gonna try this on my Bold. However, I just wanna be clear on one thing - coloring my trackball with a Sharpie will not void my warranty in any way?
