OK...Look, I unplugged this phone at 9am this morning. A couple texts here and there, nothing serious. Went to church today, texted throughout the service as well as a little bit of BBM and Facebook (Shutup I know I shouldn't have been on my phone in church). Went home, texted, used Facebook, BBM'd AND Uber'd the whole time. By the time the sabbath was over (Round 7:30), I had about 50% left. I continued to do texting and BBM/Twitter but more heavily, then talked on the phone for about 30 minutes. Then got back off and did more heavy texting. I then went bowling and texted and used Uber, and came down to about 40%. Now I'm still on Uber and on BBM and guess how much I got left? 35%. My friend was so shocked because he charged his phone before going bowling. I've had the phone on using it more then average and I have 35% left! From 9am-5am?? Seriously!?

I mean I thought people were overexaggerating about the battery, but when mines hit 50% and STAYED there for at LEAST 30 minutes, I knew what was up.


Whoever made the 9700 & the OS deserves a cuban cigar. I'm just saying.

hahahaha. Yea man the 9700 Battery is a Beast. I would be rocking that phone if i didn't love my Whiteberry 9000 so much. That 9700 stays on forever. I used my 9700 once for a day and a half almost 2. Some people claim like 3 days, but i find that highly unlikely. But yea I thought you were bashing the phone at first from the title lol.

Use a Descriptive Title
This rule is simple; help us to help you. When you create your thread / post, think of it as if 'someone else' is reading it. With that in mind, make your subject lines related to the content of your post. I am one that has claimed 3 days, because I have gotten it....usually I have spells to where I use it heavy and then it sits for hours, but is on and even had apps running in the background to boot...

If using most of the day, which is rare as I need a life outside my Berry, then a day and a half to 2 days if I am lucky...

Still the best battery life I have seen to date and worlds better than my wifes mytouch as she has to charge her phone after 10 hours and she don't even use it much, lol!

i dunno.. i still have to charge my phone every night. i will admit that its better than my 9000 was though. id leave my house for school around 9 AM and by the time i left school at 5 PM it was down to around 20% or so. now i dont have to charge my phone until i go to sleep at around 3 AM.

I would look at what apps you have running in the background. If you leave googlemaps running for example, it will continue to pull data even if its not in the foreground, I would also look at whether you are using and or need 3g. If your going to be sitting in class all day, and shouldnt be using your phone much, turn 3g off. That will extend your batt life like you wont believe.

Yeah, I was very very impressed with this phones battery life. I am considering buying the bigger battery and back that crackberry sells here in the store to give me even more time away from the outlet. Add to that a solar powered usb charger and you may never have to plug in.

I gave the 8900 to my mom and that thing barely survives a day without having cardiac arrest. Feels good to be able to not have to bring my charger with me to the studio, feels darn good.

is the absolute fastest way to degrade the life of a Li-Ion battery.

They work best when charged often. The people who brag about going 2-3 days on a
single charge regularly will eventually be the people posting threads asking why
their battery never seems to hold a charge or dies faster than normal.

When I sleep my phone is downstairs charging on my desk. When I get back from
lunch I top it off and when I get home it goes back in the charger. There is no
chance of overcharging because there is a circuit that stops the charging once
it is at full.

I charge my bb every night when I'm sleeping, but the battery completely impressed me. I'm coming from a G1 where I needed a charger for my home, car, and a travel charger to keep the poor phone going. If I went through moderate usage on that phone, in 2 - 3 hours that phone would be dead. By the end of a 12 hour day using txt, bbm, myspace, fb, uber, app world, pandora/slacker, browser, I can have three bars or 2 1/2 bars. I love the change.

Oh OK because I heard it was better to run your battery down to get more benefits from it. Usually I like to just let it standby while I'm sleeping or whatever, but thanks, I'll start to charge it more. I just didn't all day yesterday to test if the battery was really as great as people were making it to be.

Yea son everyone I know that had that phone said the battery SUCKED, good thing, because I almost actually ended up getting one. I mean EVERYONE had a G1.
