Yes, there's a sweet point at about 15-20 cm away from the test in close up mode, from there you can zoom into the text. Flash helps too and doesn't distort as you're not close to the text.

I know I will take a beating for what I am about to say but its all good.
I just picked up an iPhone4 My 9700 was starting to give me issues and I had an upgrade so I did what I thought was right. Is the iPhone perfect? nope but RIM needs to get their **** together because they are losing customers. I dont play favorites, I use what i think works for me and the BB are falling behind. If they can get their act together and turn out a "NEW" product that is superior or at least on par with other vendors I would go back in a minute. Fact is that no matter what members here say the numbers dont support the blackberry being the device it used to be. Do I miss certain things on my beloved BB? of course but i dont miss them enough to go back until a better unit arrives. The new bold is not being well received due to price and other issues and the playbook is about a dead issue unless they can again get their **** together. Personally I think the two CEO's should go find a job and let a more qualified person try to turn RIM around.

Actually the quality is amazing, at least coming from a 9700.

i guess this device is still young, it needs lot of OS upgrade (like any other BB devices) to make it mature enough (with few bugs that you don't even notice like what your 9700 now) and i know soon enough with coming of OS7 updates (for fixing bugs, etc). we will gonna start loving this one!

for me, you cannot have a perfect device from the start.. ever.
