No problems... you will most likely start getting a text from ATT telling you that you need an iphone data plan, but you should be all set. I was doing this until I got rid of my iphone
i have the iphone but am thinking of getting a bold? will i need to unlock one or both phones??
to clarify "unlock"
ATT in the US is the only seller of iPhone and Bold. If purchased from ATT, both will be locked to ATT. If you use the ATT SIM and switch between the two phones then there is no reason to 'unlock'.
To use a TM SIM on ATT purchased phones then you must 'unlock' both of them to use them on TM.
'Unlocking' only removes the carrier restrictions imposed by the wireless company that sold the phone (to keep you as their customer). Many people unlock phones. Unlocking allows use of the phones internationally with local phone company SIM cards. ATT CS will provide the unlock for free if you tell them you are planning a foreign trip.
OK sounds good wonder if Iwill need two data plans??
Each have their own data plans.
Bummer that means I have to pay for 2 data plans one for each phone? There must be away around this.
No- you just need one plan. You need the blackberry plan in order to use email on the bold; everything on the iphone will work on the Blackberry plan including data.
You'll get the texts mentioned above because ATT's system identifies the IMEI of the iphone as an iphone. Just ignore them.

I tested this on my bold and my buddies old iPhone 2G. The iPhone worked the entire night. The next day at school when I gave him his phone back, there was a text message on my blackberry stating at&t detected my SIM in and iPhone.
i called my local at&t store and told them what i did. They told me the text was sent due to the fact that they thought my phone might have been stolen.
interesting thanks,
