I've been successfully using a Bell 9900 on AT&T since August. I upgraded to the leaked 7.1 OS a few weeks ago and have been using the hotspot feature (entered in the AT&T apn settings). It was working great, I have tethering on my plan. All of a sudden this morning, hotspot stopped working! I'm getting the "temporary network problem" message. I did a battery pull, no dice.

Anybody else on AT&T notice a change today? Or just me? Suggestions? It no longer even shows me the "apn popup" when I start mobile hotspot - it just goes straight to the error.

Same here...and i hear lot of people have the same problem on verizon sprint and AT&T. Seems like RIM might have killed it. Since alot of people cross carrier stopped all about the same time. We get temp network problem.I have have a teathering plan and still does not work. but if you have a sprint and have the sprint 7.1 and pay for the hot spot it still working. This Sux I want my hotspot i will pay and i am paying for a hotspot and now not getting the service.

Maybe AT&T, in their infinite greediness, wants to separate tethering v. Hotspot, and charge more for the latter.

I feel you ! I was travelling today, 6+ hours in the air plus layover, really was counting on having my wifi hotspot running as it had been.

AT&T...grrr. Aggression for losing the deal with T-Mobile? Lol

I'm wondering if it has anything to do with using a non-AT&T branded phone on AT&T.

If you put the leaked 7.1 on a AT&T branded 9900, does the hotspot option showup?

If it does, can anybody comment on if its still working on those phones?

I am on BES with AT&T and had to change ID/pwd every few days to get it back to work using the recommendations in other posts but since Thursday I can't turn it on like many of you. I get an error saying "can't start hotspot due to temporary network problem. Please try again later" Kept trying Friday and today but I think AT&T or BES Admin did something to cut it off.
If anyone has success, please share...

This is bad news indeed! Is anyone out there still using the hotspot feature successfully?? If so which carrier and is it unbranded device or not??

Digging more into this, I found that hotspot is service book dependent but could not find any reference in my service books.

May be someone who is more knowledgeable can chime in .

AT&T added some 4G specific tethering plans for these new devices. The SOC code is HSTDBB7E. That SOC (rate plan) is for the Data Pro Enterprise with tethering for 4G BlackBerry. It is $60/mo. Anyway MHS works with that. That is a BES plan. Don't know what the BIS plan is.

Can someone with Vodafone UK with a 1GB or more data plan/mobile internet allowance confirm whether Mobile Hotspot still works please? I read on another post that the carrier Rogers has disabled the Mobile Hotspot for users that have less than 1GB data allowance so I was wandering if Vodafone UK have adopted a similar stance. FYI I have a 500MB data allowance in my price plan.

    Thanks.
