I am thinking starting to download some music to my Bold and I am wondering if I need a bigger memory card. I currently have a 256mb. I dont plan on going music crazy downloading and truth is I will probably switch songs out as I get tired of them. Any suggestions on what size card I need?

Also, if I do get a new card, what is the best way to transfer the files on my current card to the new one?

8GB and below are getting very cheap. I would drag the songs onto my PC desktop, then drag them back onto the new card (after formatting, of course)

My media sync/manager has never worked on my desktop manager for some reason. I always get an error and it shuts down. I have been adding and removing files the long way through "my computer".

    That is a class 2 card. I wouldn't recommend anything under a class 4.

The phone only reads at class 2 speeds. I can fill up my 8GB class 2 in about 10-15 minutes from the PC.

I would get the biggest one you can afford. You can never have too much storage space.

32 GB expected to be available before the end of the year with a 64GB sometime in 2010.

I have a 16gb and it works great. Paid about $50 for it on ebay. Would love a 32gb but $200 is A LOT of dough

The transfer speed of the card.

    Class 2 = up to 2 MB/sec

    Class 4 = up to 4 MB/sec

    Class 6 = up to 6 MB/sec

If I get a class 6 card, will images load up faster? I saw in this same thread that the phone doesn't read anything faster than 2 (faster than 2 of course), so a class 6 while the phone is using it is still only a class 2. Is this true?

what I really hate is having 2000 songs on my phone, doing a battery pull and waiting 5 minutes for it to scan the media card, cuz it bogs down my device.

I really want a class 6 one, but only if it helps with that.
