some people find it easier.
its not the easiest memory card to remove...
Just tried to remove the micro sd and the spring load works fine but the card will not pass the rear housing and pull out without gently raising the card to help it slide out. I used the plastic pick that comes with the Swiss Army Knife and slid that between card and housing and then it eased out with no problems.
Plastic housing looks a little too proud i guess they will reduce the material around that area in time ! otherwise well built unit i would say.
I thought I was the only one. I was able to remove and I don't even know how. I think where the memory card rests is too slanted and the memory card isn't exactly laying flat on that part.
It was kinda hard putting it back in as I didn't want to force it in and possibly break it.
A small design flaw to be sure. I didnt think I was ever going to get the 2gig out. Finally did, but only after threatening my berry to use a hammer and chisel on it.
pain in the *** to remove just like the battery, my method is just grabbing it with 2 fingers on the side..
This is my only problem with this phone.
same issue here [and BB made in canada]
so I [temporarily] put a small piece of paper under the front exposed edge of the mem card, so that when it pops out you can slide it on over the "hump"
It was last week, I think, when CB Kevin posted a blog on the front page, about "how to change out your memory card from your BB device." When I first saw that, I thought "wow, what a waste of blog time," but went ahead and watched the video anyway. Kevin had about 7 or 8 different BBs and (and I assume he at least practiced this a time or two prior to starting the camera) began doing a very quick demo showing the various methodologies each device required to change out the card. I found myself laughing as some of these were a bit tricky, even for someone who's done it before! I just went back to find the post. It was an updated vid from his previous version in his Crackberry 101 series. You can view it here: http://crackberry.com/blackberry-101...our-blackberry
use a credit card to slide it out, thats the only thing that worked for me and i had long nails!!!
I had this same exact problem...i tried for 20 mins to get out and I could not get it. My boyfriend stood there and laughed at me saying "you just know how to do it" needless to say I laugh in his face when it took him 15 mins to get the card out. :D
Both of my 9700s had this problem at first....after releasing the spring loaded mechanism I couldn't get them out! Trick was to use my finger nail to pull on the right side of the card's lip (with some force), and they slid right out! Also, they have become easier after a few times!
LOL are you guys serious 5 pages of people not being able to remove the card. just push it in and it'll pop out. its a spring release, just like someone said in the second/third reply.
Good 'ole CB. I've seen posts that started a genuinely interesting topic...and bleh..nothing...nobody even participates. "How to Remove A Card?" 5 pages, keeps this place interesting sometimes.
I had the same issue as everyone else. Yes, I did push it in first, but when it pops out, it gets stuck. Push the card back in. Cut a small piece of paper into a long thin strip (I used part of a post it note). Slip the paper in under the card as far as it will go (should go pretty far up). Then eject the card by pushing it in, towards the top. Once it gets to the spot where it is normally stuck, lift it up by grabbing the paper (acting as a sled) and the card together. Lift up a bit and slide out. It still took a little pulling, but came out much easier.
why not just leave it in? It was easy for me the one time I took it out.
I have to chime in here. Thanks for this video, and others who are not having the problem of getting their media card out. I've been on the other side of situations where MINE works fine and just presume the rest of the world are incompetent.
So, I'd like to state this for any who think that we who cannot get our media cards out are simpletons...
I press the card in. I feel the spring latch release, and the card does come out further - clearly has been released by the spring latch mechanism. But then the card gets stuck. Something is definitely caught, but also clearly not the spring latch because I can push the card back in and it will latch and not come out as far any more, and is clearly solidly attached. But when I press in again and the card STARTS to come out, I have to then force it the remainder of the way before it actually releases. The post gets in the way, but it's not that plastic post that stops the card from releasing. It's definitely stuck inside somehow...
I've forced it out enough times (about 5 or 6 times) that it does now come loose after disengaging the spring-lock. But at first, it took some force.
Anyway...we're not LOSERS. We just have something more going on with our devices than those of you lucky enough not to have the problem...
Cheers.
Thanks! This was the only method to work for me. :)
hello i need help im still new but um can you please tell me how to ask a question on here? the instruction is unclear, thank you :)
