I would appreciate an explanation as to how the Bold allocates memory. My memory screen shows
    • Application memory, Free space 22.2MB

    • Device memory:
      Total space 859.2MB
      Free space: 858.5MB

How can I re-allocate some of the device memory for use by applications. It always seems that my Bold runs slowly as it is "out of memory" when it is apparent that there is ample but just allocated to device memory category.

You can't. Try closing the applications you're not using. That will free up some memory.

Right, can't be done. Close apps as suggested and dump the ones you don't use. Also, there are lots of memory optimization tips here in the forum. Good luck!
