Media memory in 9900

hey guys, i need some clarification on the available and expandable memory in the 9900. basically the only reason i'm considering switching from my 9780 is that i have about 36gb of music i want to transfer to my phone. are the 8gb onboard memory and 32gb expandable memory continuous or disjoint? in other words, can i assume that i have ~40gb of memory for syncing my music? or do these work like 2 different hard drives in a computer? thanks.

Thats a good question. I am coming back to the BB world after a year on Android. I would guess its similar to other devices with dual memory spaces for media where your particular media app searches for all media files and shows them to you regardless of where they are. That would be my best guess (until my 9930 can be ordered on Monday).
