This is probably the stupidiest question ever, but..

I've moved from a Nokia E52 to a 9700 recently, with a BIS subscription - everything works fine.

But: when I received emails, I get the red led, and they show up on my homescreen (I've a today theme showing the last 2 emails).

But once they're read, the list on the homescreen just goes empty.

Is there a setting for that?

Hi - this is normal for Blackberry 5.0 operating systems, which is the OS that runs the BB 9700. I run a 5.0 OS on my Blackberry 9000, and have the same situation. When I was running the earlier 4.6 OS, you could open one email from the today list - it would then disappear from the today list, but other unopened messages would remain.

Again, this the way 5.0 operates, and unfortunately there is nothing that can change that.

Calendar entries on the calendar today screen, however, do not disappear when they are opened.
