    Why don't you just use the Memo Pad application that's already included with your phone?
    It's simple and easy.

    BB Note Pad, Do a google search for its homepage to see details and you'll see why its great. Homescreen shortcut "p", you choose "default directory" where on the blackberry to save files, the files are saved as .txt.
