Been using an 8530 for a year or so with BerryBuzz. I've been happy with it. My 8530 broke and while it was getting repaired I used an 8330i (pretty sure that's the model, was a Nextel too) and I noticed the LED was significantly brighter. Way brighter, maybe bigger?
Is the 9930 LED more like the 8530 or 8330i?

LED looks like, and I've read, like the Torch 9800.
My co-worker owns a Torch and so did I a very long time ago. I honestly do not see a problem with the LED notification. It is very bright enough for me to see even if I am standing on the other side of the room. Just set a really annoying ringtone to make everybody hate you. That way you will never miss a call/email/sms. I used the hunter's pounce from Left 4 Dead, scares people all the time when set loud enough in a quiet room. LOL
Thanks for the replies. Yeah, I don't have a problem with the round LED on my Curve, I just thought the vertical LED was really cool for the short time I used the phone.

The older LEDs used on models such as the 8900 were bright. The LED on the Torch is more muted. However, the advantage (or advancement) is that it allows for a greater assortment of colours. Using BeBuzz on an older model involved blending two different colours together that changed depending on viewing angle, and wasn't as nice looking. I prefer the newer LEDs.

The 9900 LED is bright and much more vivid than the Torch Led. The Torch LED seemed to be set back from the LED window where the 9900 LED is bright and right against the glass screen. It is PLENTY bright
