When I check for available updates I'm told my BlackBerry is up to date.
I got City ID to work mine by downloading OTA the version from the Storm II 9550. Just tried it and works. However it says it's trial for 15 days, then $1.99 / month. But it does seem to work on my VZW 9930! Link: http://mobile.vzw.com/download/CID/BB9550/CID_9550.jad

If you are on Verizon but are not running a Verizon sponsored OS, then the OTA updates will not work. OTA updates only work from Verizon's sponsored OS to another Verizon sponsored OS. The same is true for all other carriers, as far as I know. In other words, OTA updates won't work on AT&T if the device is running an OS other than one sponsored by AT&T.
So, my guess is you updated your device to an OS other than .254 that came with it, right? If so, you will need to install this update manually.
I have downloaded this OS on my verizon bold. i get constant signal flux and when on a website, about 80% of the time, an icon comes up stating" the browser closed the recent web pages. do you want to re open them" how do i fix these?
i have had my 9930 from verizon for a month with no issues.came with 254 .i held off upgrading second to bricking issue.but yesterday did it went smoothly .i am now on .374 with no issues .
Man, where's our leaks ?? The 9900 had like 3 or something since .374 came out for us.
Leaks typically come out of carrier field testers.... there are a LOT more carriers using the 9900 than the 9930 so they get more leaks... most other BB models are the same way.
I'm surprised VZW is shipping 9930s without the 374 OS still. Just got mine today with 254.
That is odd isn't it? I've ordered at least 5 > 7 BB's since the new OS was unleashed, and all of 'em have .254. The minute you activate the device onto the VZW network, you get a new desktop icon with the prompt to upgrade. I suppose they still have a stock of BB's with the old OS they're working their way through.
That being said, it's INFINITELY quicker (and less headache) if you upgrade using the BB Desktop Mgr. Once that icon appears, I hide it and then hook the BB up to a pc and upgrade there.

I'd say either they bought a good many units and they're selling them as they received them (like they're going to spoil), or the 9930 is just selling that slow at VZW.

They usually update the OS prior to selling and put a sticker with the new OS version over the whatever is printed on the UPC label. Oh well, 254 is gone and 374 is loaded up. Time to activate.
Ever since upgrading to this new OS I have dreadful battery life (this morning at 9am 100% and at 12:34 pm I am down to 56%) and a dreadful memory leak ( in 1-2 days I go from ~230 down to ~127). I have checked all programs and the only refresh I have is Uber, which I barely ever open, @10 min refresh and weather berry which refreshes at @ every 3 hours. This all occurs with not much usage outside of emails and some text. The scenario above occurred with my phones just sitting on my desk and one 5 min call. Constantly getting the pseudo hourglass/spinning clock icon that shows it's working, but only when memory is as low as it is.
Out of all of my BB over the past how many years I have never personally experienced a memory leak like this one where I have to pull the battery ever other day or so. Any ideas on problems with this build, as I had no related issues with the first build that was released with the 9930?

I use apploader. DM is a round-about way, and OTAs are for the insane.
