all your bbm contacts should have been automatically backed up by blackberry now
Got it back now. Just gotta updated my bb world then bbm again to restore all my contacts
yes once you have the newest bbm the contacts will all show back up.
Always have to keep my 9900 updated. Just waiting for an upload to be done.
So which OS is the newest for BB 9900?
Thein,
Did you manually backup your BBM contacts?
Or do you use the newest BBM (v7+)?
If your answer is none above, then you might have lost all of your BBM contacts. If your answer is one of the above, then there will be few more steps to restore your BBM contacts.
Cheers.
.862 AT&T is more for AT&T users, a new OS without the mic issue. Voice call is very clear, and has a good signal strength. The temp. is a lil bit warm like the .694 AT&T.

I don't suppose that the AT&T version has the (poorly implemented) WiFi calling module that T-Mobile deployed, eh? On that note...I'll wait, until **** freezes over, perhaps.
Rroy - was just in Turkey for a week and a half - business & pleasure. Just curious what happened to make you angry. I know that Turkcell can be a pain in the rear.
Just curious why Desktop Software says no updates available, however OTA says there is? Any thoughts on how I should proceed.
No update here for me either on Desktop Manager or OTA on my 9900....

With legacy BBOS devices, I would recommend using neither DM nor OTA for updating the OS. DL the OS to your PC via your PC's browser from BB carrier downloads page.

Follow my OS Upgrade Guide on Page 1; I think it was post #2.

I haven't update my Guide yet, but newest BBM versions don't actually have option to Backup anymore. I think you were saying same thing though anyway.
There is always at least one more method though:
You can use DM for a selective Restore as it also backs up your BBM Contacts.
But just updating your BBM should do it too, as others posted already.
I always just shrink out BBM, BB World, Protect, ARM, and few others, as the OS rarely has even the same version, let alone a newer one. If you shrink them out, you'll keep whatever version you already had loaded before the OS update.

this thread should be sticky by now.
This version still doesn't show up for me.
Good point!
Just asked for it to be Stickified instead of AT&T. 694 thread.

You can't see it on the BB carrier downloads webpage?

Is there a way to manually updated this on mac?
Not exactly... but yes.
You would need to have a virtual Windows environment using Bootcamp, VMWare Fusion, etc. Then install DM for PC and the OS in the virtual environment.
Are you on AT&T? If so, just let DM for Mac do it automatically.
If not, use the 861 release instead, per the other Sticky Thread. It's actually newer than this.

I will not upgraded. Lack of led colour and old issues. Wake up AT and...T :d
AT& T in deep slumber:cant-watch:
Mac only can update OS , based on vendor ( not carrier ) of connected phone.. internet required
Or,as Elite said, try install VM ( i had no luck with VM,often stuck in the middle when upgrading on progress)
What's the change log for this update?
Did the shrink, loaded, and working just fine. The annoying AT&T address book doesn't seem to be included. Running very smooth (don't they all the first few days) and the Wireless & Wi-Fi seem to have a stronger signal than the Berrylicious Hybrid I was using.
Update: Definitely smoother going than any other OS I have used so far.
Go for it!
