Giving an opinion about battery life from day one?
No such thing as 'allow a day or two for the OS to settle'. Its just religion

The update is not showing up in app loader when I open it. It is only showing the applications stored on my device. Help?
Did you delete any previous O.S. including folders and run CC cleaner?

    Here is a mirror: 9780AllLang_PBr6.0.0_rel2647_PL6.6.0.223_A6.0.0.60 0.exe - 4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download

Phil, if you mean Menu > Options leading to Home screen preferencies, then it is a positive.

    Reboot your pc.
    Yes, I'd say the same.

are you doing it through the loader and not through desktop manager?

you have to ensure that the loader files on your system has no other OS

    Positive.

Would desktop manager interfere with this if I have loaded os on my device through that?

Precisely! Delete any old OS, install the new OS, Wipe your Device, go to the Loader Directory, delete vendor.xml, start Loader.exe

I think I had your problem recently... Solution was to delete the OS from the computer but before installing it again, remove the Apploader directory from the Common Files/Research In Motion directory. Issues is something not getting updated as it should when installing the OS.

I'm not having any issues with that. Try another battery pull.
