Latest Official 9780 OS 6.0.0.576 from Orange Polland
- You can take the .600 java files from the 9700 and copy/paste them into the .576 java folder from 9780. It will ask you if you want to replace, and you hit okay (something to that effect). Delete the vendor files, shrink the OS if you want (Hybrid Tools, BBSAK etc) and then run AppLoader as usual. You should be good to go.
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com06-18-11 10:34 PMLike 0 - Anyone using themes other than the stock theme (I hate navigation bar menu) experiencing empty screen whenever you press the menu button:
1. Immediately every time after reset/restart/quickpull the battery or
2. Immediately After you change the theme.
This is a "bug" on 570 and I just experienced in 576 as well. In 546 the bug never exist. Is there a way to solve this? The first menu key press after the 2 condition above will always hit the bug however, subsequent menu key press is back to normal.
This is not big deal but pretty annoying. For .546, other than slow boot up time, it's actually pretty stable.
Please advise... thanks guys..06-18-11 11:29 PMLike 0 - 06-19-11 09:50 AMLike 0
- you can follow the link at BlackBerry - BlackBerry Desktop and Device Software Download Sites and select "Taiwan Mobile" then "BlackBerry Bold 9780 smartphone". Inside there are "Asia version" as well as the "All Language version".
Hope it helps.

06-19-11 11:51 PMLike 0 - After a few hours with this built I went back to 546. The signal doesn't seem stable, I stared at the phone signal and it's been going randomly from no signal, GPRS, EDGE, 3G to no signal alternately.
I am currently in Jakarta where the signal here is known to be pretty unstable. But with 546, the signal just doesn't fluctuate that much. Just to be sure I spent one whole Sunday upgrading and downgrading a few times. Everytime I goes to 576, the problem above occur. You might say the constant 3G signal on 546 might be a fake while 576 is showing the real signal strength but on 546, I can still load things decently.
I do admit boot up is tad slow on 546 but with such unstable signal, I think I'll live with that until the next version shows up.
For those in areas where signal is good, I'm pretty sure you won't encounter my problem though.06-20-11 11:01 AMLike 0 - This is ridiculous that older devices are getting frequent updates than the 9780. What i did was replace the java folder with the .600 java folder of the 9700. Running it since a week now and everything seems smooth for the time being. The only issue is the painfully long boot time. My spare 9700 boots faster than my 9780! Isnt that ridiculous06-22-11 07:57 AMLike 0
- I had to agree with you on that aashay. Booting on 9780 takes longer time.
1. Btw, which base version of the 9780 that you use to override with the .600 java files from 9780? .546 or .576 ? Some are saying in terms of radio signal and stability .576 is better and some said .546 better.
2. And any particular java files that you keep from the .546 or .576 version?06-23-11 01:16 AMLike 0 - you can follow the link at BlackBerry - BlackBerry Desktop and Device Software Download Sites and select "Taiwan Mobile" then "BlackBerry Bold 9780 smartphone". thanks!!!!06-23-11 11:46 AMLike 0 - one of the worst OS until now in my opinion
the signal is unstable and everything is moving very very slow06-23-11 03:23 PMLike 0 -
- Been using 576 base with 600 java folder from 9700. This method giving my 9780 a great life!
I also use 600 on my 9700 and this build is awesome. Very fast menu and applications.
About memory leak, every app has their own cache so i guess it's very common when you use many apps on your phone. Just quickpull every 1 day and you'll be fine.
But it's just my opinion though. Will be waiting on 600 release for 9780.

Another question : I am using the Bold quite heavily because I am travelling quite a lot.
Actually I am allready running the 546, what is the general impression using the 576? Do you suggest me to wait for next version or this release can improve the previous 546? About this release I really hate the unstable sensibility of the trackpad. Sometimes the scroll is fast and sometimes it freeze, I think is someting related to the number of applications/memory usage hoping this "feature" will improve in coming updates.. What do you think?
Thanks for a feedback about that!06-24-11 05:02 AMLike 0 - Hi All,
Can I asked those who have upgraded to this offical .576 release. When you turn on your phone, after the phone is connected, does it stay with your telco SIM menu?
I have the above problem with .546 and have reverted to .448, which does hot have this problem..06-27-11 02:35 AMLike 0 - I had to agree with you on that aashay. Booting on 9780 takes longer time.

You do not need to delete the original 9780 .576 java folder. Just leave the java folder AS IT IS and replace it with the java folder of the .600. It will ask you to overwrite most of the files (Win 7) just overwrite them, shrink if you want to, fire up app loader and you'll be good to go!!
