Roy, do you know if the Email Setup needs to be updated in this built?
Earth calling Roy, come in please.
Nevermind, it doesn't. If you guys want it, I can upload an edited alx file that is already set for the update email client (along with the cods, ofc).
I just took the 9700 .600 java files and put them in the 9780 .570 java folder and made a hybrid. I like it, so I'm wondering if I should just hold off. If anyone who updates to this wants to give a list of findings, that would be muchly appreciated.

No, that's not what meant.
I have the oficial link for the update and the cods. What I said was if somebody wants to SKIP that part, since a lot of people have been having issues downloading it and bricking their devices, they could have an edited alx file, so the update would be installed along with the OS update.
It also has all native languages supported, since we know the official update only comes with English.
Just extract this into C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\9780AllLang_v6.0.0.576_P6.6.0.216 (\Program Files (x64)\ if you have a 64bits OS).
EDIT: Here is the link. CB says zip files can be as large as 4.7mb, but I never manage to upload any...
1) delete old OS from computer and re install a working OS .546 in this case
2) start app loader
3) take battery out and put it back fast!
4) when the pin comes up in Apploader click next right away
5) Click erase old OS
6) Click Next Till it Starts to Load the OS
7) wait... you will see the phone come to life, and then the loading icons on the screen
8) AppLoader will finish its work and phone will reboot, its going to be a slow reboot...
9) See the Security Software screen come back
10) Jump for joy! Splash Screen Movie starts!
I tried to load this one and it killed my phone dead so far I got 507 error
I have removed the old os from the computer and installed a new one
I have tried the battery out trick to get to the PIN then click next
it gets to JVM and fails
Was there anything to interrupt the install process (a program running such as DM, or your PC losing power, for example)? Maybe try reverting back to an old OS and trying to install that to be safe.
Glad to hear that the sim card pop-up has gone. But is the alarm time aligned correctly in that pull-down menu on the homescreen? I used the ribbon files from an earlier build as someone instructed in another topic on this forum, do I need to do this again?

Ah I mean the menu that pulls down above that, the one with the Mobile network, wifi and bluetooth etc - when I was using previous builds with the clock enabled, the time was completely out of alignment etc, and I saw a few others experienced the same problem
