Hello all. I was just wondering, what is the largest capacity SD card i can use in my 9780? i know the specs say its a 32gig but then again the Z10 says 32gig as well and there are no issues with a 64GB card in it. Has anybody tried a larger card in their Bold? I'm using a 4GB card right now but i'd like to go larger to accommodate my music library. Any help would be appreciated.

It does say 32 GB. I didn't think any of the legacy devices could use anything bigger. But it would be interesting to hear if anyone has tried to us a 64 GB.

I use a Sandisk 32GB card in mine. I doubt it is going to support anything bigger as they didn't exist at the time. And, if I understand the technology correctly, a 64GB card is a slightly different standard and would need a firmware update.

I can assure you that 32GB is more than big enough. I have over 100 albums on mine all in high quality FLAC. Leaving plenty of room still for video recording and photos.

Thanks for the replies. I own a 64gig card that i used in my Z10 and would like to use it in my 9780 but it says something about fatal errors when i insert it. I just wondered about whether it was the device that is the issue or the card that is the issue. i didn't want to have to format the card and lose all my media on the card. I think i'll just save the pics on the laptop and try to format it using the computer and try again. I will update this thread once i find my microSD adapter. :s

I think that your BB won't work smoothly with a 64GB SD card.

Ok, well, I just finished formatting the card on my laptop (what a long process..) tried installing in my 9780 and no dice. I guess i'll have to break down and buy a new 32gig. Thanks again for the replies everyone.

will a SDHD card work, or does it have to be the older standard density card? thanks.

SDHD cards work fine. That's what I use.

Ok, but I understand it has to be. Class 4 not Class 10 SDHC card.

For reference, I have a Sandisk 32GB micro SDHC Class 4 card in mine. Has been running well for years now.

Be very very careful of fakes as there are far too many out there. Dodgy labels on cards from dodgy sources.
